Is this for life or for the 5 year probation?From what I could find, he was originally going to be on the sex offender registry for Michigan until 2040 and on the Indiana registry for life. But after this story got national attention, a different judge resentenced him, which removed him from the Michigan registry and only kept him on the Indiana registry until he finished a strict 2 year probation. So for 2 years he couldn't have any contact with minors, use the Internet for anything other than school, or have a cellphone. His probation was supposed to end in October 2017, but got extended by 6 months, because he had used the Internet to look up a filter for his fish tank.
