Not me. I don't really have any friends who are into board games. Or at least not the overcomplicated Eurostyle board games that have gotten popular lately because nerds love complicated games with tons and tons of stuff in the box that take 4+ hours to play.

Most of us are adults, and between work and kids and other social obligations we have a really hard time getting together as a large group more than a few times a year, and when we do nobody really wants to play board games (if we play anything it's usually Magic: The Gathering, but we've fallen off on that as well).

I bought Betrayal at House on the Hill like 10 years ago and I've never played it once. Probably never will at this point. Doesn't really make sense to keep buying games I know I'll never play.

I'd like to get the Skyrim board game, but holy crap is it expensive. $112 for the base game, plus $78 for Dawnguard, plus $57 for From the Ashes, plus $110 for the Miniatures Upgrade Set, plus $40 for the 5-8 player expansion. $400 plus tax for a board game!

To be fair, you're not supposed to buy it all at once. You're supposed buy the base game and play it over a period of time, and then when you've played it enough that it starts to get boring, you buy the first expansion. Then you play that for a while before buying the second one. So it's $400 stretched out over a much longer period.

Of course, the downside there is that if you wait too long you might miss out on some of the expansions if they go out of print (which is what kind of happened with HeroQuest back in the 80s).

On the flip-side, there's also the possibility that you'll buy the base game and decide you don't actually like it as much as you thought you would, so you don't bother buying the expansions. Or you have trouble getting a group of friends together who want to play it and wind up just stuffing it on a shelf and letting it collect dust.
