Well the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are kinda fucked up. *SPOILERS*
Shredder is killed off in the very first comic. Splinter trained the turtles to get revenge on Shredder for him, because he killed his former owner and master. Leo landed a fatal blow to Shredder and handed him his sword to commit seppuku, but instead Shredder pulled the pin on a grenade intending to kill everyone. He was knocked off the building they were fighting on though. He wouldn't reappear for two years, but it was revealed that that Shredder was some weirdass worm clone thing.
