Malum is apparently a remake/reimagining of the 2014 film Last Shift, which I think I have heard of but never seen. It's sort of weird to reboot a film with another one when it's still less than a decade old, but I guess perhaps the vision of people behind the project have changed over time? Anyway, it borders on my B tier but doesn't quite get there. It's just a little too dark at times, and there are a few things which it doesn't answer very well that end up not making a ton of sense to me. But it's a more by the book horror film than most I've been watching lately, so it has that going for it. Plenty of blood and gore and spooks to be had.
