I have one 21.5" monitor, which is all that really fits on my desk and about the largest I'd actually want, given how close it is to me. At this size, 1080p is plenty, so I'm to exactly in a rush to upgrade. I've also been using this for like 15 years, so there's a real chance I'll have to replace it in the not-too-distant future, but I'll still just be going for something on the smaller side.

That's really only if you care about staying on the cutting edge of hardware, which there's very little point in doing. Most of my PC dates from 2011, aside from a GPU/PSU upgrade in 2015 and a couple of drive replacements, and it's only just now getting to the point where I feel like I'll need to upgrade (entirely because of Elden Ring). With the degree to which the technical demands of gaming have plateaued in recent years, I fully expect that my next upgrades will last more than another decade, though that will be a pricey upgrade because I need a new CPU, mobo, and RAM (my i5 2500K is showing its age a little, and there aren't too many options for upgrading that without upgrading everything).
