Illmatic has an incredible sense of time and place. Its really stuck with me, more than most on this list. Favorite song: Lifes a Bitch Seanchan: Rap is a genre where you have to really do something special for me to take notice. While I know this is considered a classic, it just didnt do much for me. FoolFantastic: Obviously a classic hip hop album, though there are a few dozen I would take over it, both before and after its release. It's hard for me to put my finger on why, but I think I simply prefer the production on most other major rap albums.
