(The assist trophy representing the Metal Gear series, debuting alongside fighter Snake in Brawl, the first game in the Smash series to (truly) feature content from third-party (not Nintendo published) franchises.

Gray Fox is one of only two Brawl assist trophies to be cut in 4 but return in Ultimate, the other being Isaac. Whereas Isaac returned out of nowhere, theres an explanation for Gray Foxs absence in 4. There is no Metal Gear content in 4 at all, suggesting that Bandai Namco and/or Nintendo didnt have the license for it. Ultimates Everyone is here! gimmick brought back Snake, as well as the Shadow Moses Island stage and Gray Fox assist trophy.
