I'm not sure. This song isn't exactly the most appealing work of theirs. There's a harsh electric distortion feel to parts of the song, which usually I like, but I'm not a fan of how it sounds here; the chorus repeats too often (the fact that it often repeats twice in a row isn't great) and I'm not finding much in the lyrics that I'm drawn towards. There are a few lyrics that are close:

Love is everything that you need, love
Is missing in this loveless place
[...]
We will be forever young, ever young

So it's not like I'm against the lyrics, just they're not quite on the mark or especially captivating. Still, I am growing rather fond of the band and what's here is enjoyable enough.

The verses can feel a bit monotone, but the lyrics invoke a dysfunctional relationship & denying reality:

You're like a parasite
But you keep me alive

And I can hear you say
We're gonna be okay
I know you're lying but, the truth is what I fear

So, it's doing things I appreciate as well. I'd probably put it right before the Kinda Like level to start with, then see how I felt on a different day. It's possible that I'm undervaluing this because it doesn't compare to some of their work from yesterday & my expectations were set unrealistically high... so I'd like to judge this song in context of other 54-to-56 point songs by other artists, see if this still feels accurate under those conditions.

I should not like this half as much as I actually do. Overly sexual lyrics ("Licky, Licky, Sucky, Sucky", the 69 train to climax city) with food metaphors ("Shaky, Shaky,, Sweaty, Sweaty ; You make my spaghetti ready") initially paint this as a song that should be down near the bottom of the rankings... but it's catchy as hell and the singer's commitment to the bit is hilarious. I almost lost it when he literally started making choo choo sounds. So... I think I'd start this at exactly 70 points, with an expectation that it'd probably hit 80 by the end of an actual ranking; I'd just like to give some space and take a bit of time to determine if it completely holds up over time. It *could* be getting a bit of a boost because it was so unexpected, but I think it's likely a song that would hold up.
