A gun is an inanimate weapon that cause 45,000 related deaths per year. There are millions of Pit Bulls and Pit mixes in the US, estimated around 20 percent of the total dog population. Dogs of any kind don't even come close to what guns do to our society.

No, people caused those gun deaths by being irresponsible or rotten. Also, the vast majority of guns and gun owners have never killed anyone.

And yet I still think we should have gun control and "punish" all gun owners for the dangers caused by some.

You still ignore that these are completely preventable deaths as no one needs a pit bull or similar at all. If grizzly bears were a domestic animal that we essentially created, I'd call for us to stop breeding them even if only 1% of owners let them maul someone to death. An animal that can cause so much destruction should not be in our neighborhoods. People can own a poodle, or a hamster.
