Let's say someone has a cow to trade and they want some chickens. They would only be able to trade directly with someone who both has chickens and wants a cow more than they want to keep the chickens.

However, if there is something that can be used to represent the value of the cow then the cow can be traded to anyone in exchange for the represented value even if they don't have chickens. Further the represented value can be traded to anyone who is offering chickens but didn't want a cow. Thus opening a larger pool of people who can make an exchange.

bruh that's not capitalism that's just cash which exists in many different types of economies

i think you mean that the cows and chickens are owned by private investors and can sell eggs and milk for profit to grow their enterprise while keeping the farm hand who has no capital down with low pay
