The Ashley Johnson cameo was cool, even though it's been really surreal seeing and hearing her and Baker outside of their respective original roles. Pretty solid addition to the story.
Very true to the game, down to a lot of shot-for-shot recreations. Without the final infected encounter this section of the game is a little short, which means even with the new content the episode feels brief, but I'm very glad they didn't add a bunch of extra cliffhanger material.
Two main things I noticed: they went harder on the framing that Joel's actions are bad, including during that super video game-y shootout sequence, and they didn't incapacitate Ellie during her hospital stay which makes it a bit harder for me to believe she didn't fully know what was going on, but it's not a huge deal.
Also: they canonized Riley's death as being at her hands? I don't totally love that, I think leaving the question there as something that maybe happened or didn't and she doesn't want to get into is a little more interesting, but again, not a big deal. There's a pretty huge tonal shift Ellie undergoes to get her to that quiet, somber state she's in for the Salt Lake City part of the story, and putting her in that place instead of the spicy little brat makes it easier to sell that Riley reveal.
