Dear Esther (Steam Deck)

This is the original game on Steam, not Landmark Edition.

I wanted a short game to get some real use out of Steam Deck, so I guess I went with this one. What a strange game. If you need a prime example of what a walking sim is, this is it. All you do is walk through an island and listen to guy's narration. I guess my sense of direction isn't that great, since as I was playing I was hoping to hear the narration or some music because that's when you know you're heading in the right direction.

It also has a weird way of ending. It literally just fades into a black screen with ocean sounds. That's it, no credits play. You have to exit the game through the menu from that point.

I guess when you're playing walking sims, you need to be in the right mindset. You have to be patient with yourself and the game.
