it's ok so far. about 5 hours in

The good: The atmosphere, attention to detail, soundtrack, and everything about Hogwarts itself is incredible. It's absolutely spot on. Aesthetically, it's the best I've ever seen Hogwarts look, and being able to go wherever you want is great. Story has me interested so far. The world map looks fucking huge too, yet I feel like I've only been through about 66% of hogwarts at this point. The scale feels astronomical, but I feel like I start every open world game thinking that. There's a chance it is still big but just empty, like a lot of these games suffer from. We'll see.

The bad: Collecting "Field guide pages" feels like korok seeds 2.0 but less rewarding. Very uncreative. Tons of repeat puzzles already (butterfly mirrors, the two rolling ball sphere things, etc.). And with most of these games, once the awe of the atmosphere wears off, I feel like it's just another "pick waypoint --> follow yellow path there --> do thing" game just waiting to happen. EDIT: Also as has been said, having a full inventory already and still being in the baby starting area is not a good sign.

All of this is subject to change since I can't really leave hogwarts/hogsmede yet, but we'll see.
