Knock at the Cabin watched tonight.

Interesting to watch a MNS film with NO twist and that's the twist of it. I did read the book synopsis which sounds much, much darker but on a film rated on PG-13 I wouldn't expect them to kill a 7 year old child. Also when casting Bautista as Leonard you have to make him the final one of the horsemen left alive too. That being said, I think it was pretty solid and I liked it more than Old. Not his best work, but nowhere near his worst either. Probably right in the center for me. I did really love some of the characters here, notably I really though Leonard and Andrew were extremely well acted.

I've got 5 films under my belt now, not even counting Missing! Time for the birth of my 2023 list.

1. M3GAN
2. Knock at the Cabin
3. Infinity Pool
4. Fear
5. Skinamarink

A few extra thoughts I had on Infinity Pool...

I do appreciate Mia Goth's acting ability here and the switch her character made during the film. I think there were some really interesting elements to explore here, and sometimes it did explore those elements but ultimately the film did a few things to turn me off at times. I do admit it's a tough task for a film to make an unlikable protagonist likable, but this film did it by creating really awful villains. I guess I just didn't like that James went from being resolute to literally sucking from a teet. And the orgy scene went on like forever. I dunno.
