TopicDid Vergil actually think he wouldn't lose to Nero next time?

I'm deducting a pity point.
Earlier I said fair play to DMC5 Vergil for getting the last hit on DMC5 Dante. In retrospect this means very little. It like much of Vergil's 'feats' was probably either CGI, the Mandela Effect, shameless lies or an optical illusion.
Vergil's been sitting around at the top of the tree waiting the entire time, minimal fatigue, he just got done eating his favorite fruit. Dante's spent the last bunch of days fighting Urizens, been climbing the tree, fighting Vergil's cartoon animals, foregoing a balanced diet in favor of pizza every day and by the time Dante reaches Vergil he still beats him no effort.

I'm not going all in on the fight because that'd take too long but here's some key stuff.
-Dante's summoned swords destroy Vergil's summoned swords instantly and stunlock him which means Dante's sword summoning power is exponentially stronger than Vergil's.
-Dante can just royal guard everything Vergil does, even if you've played mission 19 before and you know Vergil's gonna give you the UMVC3 heavy attack at the end, some higher force intervenes and takes control away because it really wants Vergil to survive long enough to be trampled by Nero.
-You can kill DMD Vergil in like 10-20 seconds by dropping the meteors on him. One attack. I don't think even the reboot fell to such lows.

There's just no plausibility for a boss like Mission 19 Vergil holding himself together like that. Vergil getting the last hit and it being taken seriously is like Dante walking into Vergil's room while he's asleep, pouring magma on him, tearing the bookshelf off the wall and hitting him with it repeatedly before overkilling him off with that Attack Reels move Wakka does. Then after it's over, Vergil's alarm clock goes off, Dante is startled and bumps his elbow on something and because of that little tap, the next cutscene acts like either it was a tie or like Vergil had the upper hand.

Someone with a Death Note probably wrote Vergil's Dignity in there and then wrote in that he unconsciously fights back just well enough to not get completely destroyed by Dante.
