A lot of people are quick to say DMC5's playable Vergil is really out of control strong and he's all this and all that but here's the thing. DMC3, 4 and 5's stories are pretty much Vergil telling insane lies about things that could have or actually happened, so why wouldn't the gameplay also be exaggerated?

In DMC3, Vergil's story is an insane retelling where Vergil places himself in Dante's shop, forgets to make up cutscenes to give the adventure context and recounts the adventure as him repeatedly fighting demons and killing them.

He fights RED VERGIL multiple times and I'm assuming this is supposed to be some dumb Sonichu tier crap he made up about conquering his dark side.
Because the story's taken this form, I assume DMC3 Vergil mode's narrator is a post DMC1 Vergil trying to counterweight his traumatic experiences with a wacky story.
Fortunately DMC3 Vergil does not go crazy lying about his combat proficiency. DMD Vergil 3 was a very respectable boss fight and even though it took two warm up fights, Vergil's A game was eventually bought.

He did get a little ahead of himself pretending he had Force Edge and Beowulf the entire time and going by the revelations of DMC5 there probably would have been more cane twirling and skipping around reciting poems in a hushed voice.

RED VERGIL is Vergil's OC and an example of Vergil's complete lack of creativity. Vergil could not even think up any interactions between him and his dark side, it's just a clusterfuck of CUTOFF BLAST BEGONE THIS MAY BE FUN YOU TRASH DON'T GET SO COCKY RIDICULOUS.
