depends on how they are and how exactly they got there

if they are just lazy and even after discussing their weight/potential health issues, nothing changes, then yeah i'm out

but if they make the effort to change and keep going then i'm not going to abandon them and potentially make things worse for them, i'm going to stick by them and help them get back to and stay at a healthy weight

also wouldn't leave them if the cause of the weight gain is more medically serious in nature and can't be fixed with "lose the weight lol".
