Ive been looking and most government jobs in my field are a good $20-30,000 lower in salaryI say yes to it because I'd pretty much have to commit a felony or not work for like 3 months straight to actually get fired after getting my foot in the door. And after a certain salary threshold it's no longer a rat race for me. Work not being a source of stress in your life is a super underrated benefit, definitely worth making ~70-90% of what my friends in the private sector make. Coincidentally, I'm the only one in that friend group that hasn't hopped jobs every 2 years or has had a panic attack over work. Oh yeah and if pensions still exist by the time I retire I'm just coasting on free money in addition to whatever I had in retirement until I'm in the ground --- Roll Tide & Go Irish ...
