JRPG's should have dialogue choices that actually result in different things happening, alternate ways of completing quests, and variety in builds so that: 1) Success isn't just determined by how high your level is, and 2) The game doesn't play exactly the same as the first time, if you ever want to play it again.

WRPG's should be balanced much better, in the sense that you shouldn't be able to create overpowered builds that basically make the rest of the game a foregone conclusion. Western devs in general are not good at creating challenging games, and lean too hard in giving players absolute freedom, i.e. the freedom to do stupid things and succeed anyway.

No joke. I recently played Cyberpunk and the game was only challenging at the beginning(although I played on normal) I made a katana build and pretty much destroyed everything without much thoughts
