They didn't have free spot in the ER so I was on standby. 5 days I went without food, water, not a thing passed my lips and the IV was the only thing keeping me alive. Eventually they did let me eat and I.got the surgery the next day but for a year or so afterwards I got a very sick feeling when I got hungry and had to eat right away to make it go away.
