| MaxGalactica 12/30/22 11:24:31 AM #19: | -(ISOLEUCINE)- is without a doubt the best song in the 13S soundtrack. The synths, chords, rhythms, strings (albeit fake), all work together really well to create a pure ear candy experience. Best part is from 2:23-2:49. Problem with this match is that Abandon Me is my favorite Chicory song as well. It's another fantastic aural experience with great synths and production. Really tough match, but Isoleucine is too good. Unfathomable Darkness is pretty good, particularly the second half. There are some lulls in this though, so it ends up more of a mixed bag than anything. I still mostly enjoyed it regardless. Fangs Bared at God, on the other hand, is my favorite song from Xenogears, and possibly my favorite song by Mitsuda in general. What an incredible soundscape. The haunting vocals, the bass drum, chimes, the ostinato in the mallet percussion sample, they all work perfectly together to create the soundscape. Easy vote here. Burninating the Jumpers is pretty fun. Nice mix of e-guitars with chiptune synths. Fatal Blooms in Moonlight is nice, though it's not jumping out to me as anything special. Weakest match of the day, but still good songs here. Very, very good day today.
