In those programs it's usually an ongoing process, but me personally it takes maybe 10 minutes give or take to make my avatars looks passable. In regular games I guess it takes somewhat less. I don't really put in a lot of effort, just find a good hairstyle and clothes and I'm good to go! --- Super Smash Bros.
