I think theres a serious conversation that needs to be had about the use of steroids in the fitness industry. More importantly, if you do use steroids or something of the like, then you should absolutely be honest about it. No shame in doing so. Its your life. However, steroids create unrealistic standards of what is achievable to people who dont lift weights, especially the younger crowd. There are plenty of people who think Hollywood physiques you see in superhero movies are achievable and thats just not really true without the use of steroids.

Would it be great if The Rock admitted to steroid use? Absolutely. It would get the conversation moving a lot more. People should know what is and is not realistic in terms of achievable physiques and strength level. People also need to know about the dangers of steroids and the long term effects that can have on the body.

I like to think that I have a decent enough physique. At least one good enough to where people compliment me and say that my body is their goal. However, Ill never be huge. You cant really be lean, big, and natty at the same time unless you have the genetics of a deity. Almost everyone will have to choose two of the three.

In The Rock's defense, being part Samoan, he does come from a lineage of VERY large men, so his natural base is probably a lot larger than the average person.

Combine that with his lifestyle giving him the ability to put in 5-7 hour gym sessions, using the most state of the art equipment, and keep track of ever morsel of food that goes in his body, there is a chance he is natural.

Read the interviews Kumail Nanjiani did to promote Eternals, and the stories he told about how grueling it was to get into the kind of shape he was in for that movie. Months of clean living, and 7 hours worth of gym sessions.

Or Rob McElhenney from Always Sunny when he posted what his "workout plan" when he got himself shredded for a role.

Look, its not that hard. All you need to do is lift weights six days a week, stop drinking alcohol, dont eat anything after 7pm, dont eat any carbs or sugar at all, in fact just dont eat anything you like, get the personal trainer from Magic Mike, sleep nine hours a night, run three miles a day, and have a studio pay for the whole thing over a six to seven month span. I dont know why everyones not doing this. Its a super realistic lifestyle and an appropriate body image to compare oneself to.

When your body is your brand, like it is for The Rock, you do whatever it takes to keep that brand at it's peak.

I'm not saying he's 100% natural, as I have no proof either way. But it can be done.
