Dumb question. Exosister Asophiel's effect says "players cant activate effects in the graveyard"

Miscasarus ignored this. Is this because cards in the graveyard count as cards the player "controls", or because it wasnt in the graveyard after banishing itself to pay the cost of activation? Just trying to figure out where I went wrong, lol

They're...uh...annoying? Lol. I don't see them often but they feel like a decent stun deck if you don't open a backrow wipe.

I'm waiting for the cooler "draco" deck to get it's support, but it'll be a good while before it gets here. >_>

I believe the bold part has something to do with it. After rereading Misc Im almost positive the reasoning is that its not a true activated effect but an innate effect. Another card that does this is Despian Quaeritis. Its called a condition

And as the article says, they cant be negated. As its not an activated effect.
