On topic though. I went to the dark side and made full branded despia. Debating on what to use my next UR on. I only have 1 masquerade and one Guardian Chimera. Also debating Alba but hoping to pull that but also thinking about ripping the bandaid off for them. Luckily I had double Albion, Lubellion, Mirrorjade thanks to Branded Thundras

Honestly, I've got a Branded Despia deck built and ready to go, but I've never actually touched it since I've been having fun playing different Branded variations - I've got Branded Eldlich (with a second version that's more Branded Zombies), Branded Dragonmaids, and just finished Branded DM a couple weeks ago.

Also since there was a trap mission, I used my Dragunity/Buster Blader deck.

For a few duels I never drew any of my Buster Blader card and won the game by the Dragunity side only.

The trap mission never finished.

First duel of the season, opponent pitches Maxx C. Fuck. Bagooska Pass it is.

Turns out they're playing Galaxy-Eyes though and can't play around the drunk tapir too well. Victory is mine.

...though if they'd thought to use their equip monster to boost the Link 2 to 2500, they could've beat over Bagooska and set up better in MP2. I understand Galaxy is an OTK deck so maybe it wouldn't have made much of a difference, but I am curious. I swear players just forget the battle phase even exists as a removal option sometimes. >_>

I made Branded Dragonmaid, Branded Eldlich, and Branded Drytron myself. I didn't bother making the standard Branded Despia meta deck.

Funny thing is, the only reason I built a Dogmatika deck is because I randomly pulled a royal rare White Relic of Dogmatika while pulling for those Branded cards, but I've used that Dogmatika deck more than any of my Branded decks. It's unexpectedly turned out to be really fun.

So I was able to full send and got the remaining 3 cards I wanted for full Branded Despia. I even got a mercourier off a pack which was really nice.

Had a crazy long dual against Shadolls of all things with my Branded Thundras. What a grind game, it came down to the wire and I had to use all my tricks to make it work. Didnt draw a single branded card too so I was only playing with Thunder Dragons the whole time. Was really fun but super stressful.

I came back to hear Dark Magician got yet another mediocre fusion and it's with Curse of Dragon! Why are they shafting Summoned Skull like this? Actually looking at the set it's not protagonist based

To be fair, Yuyapals just got a bunch of support in the recent selection pack and are getting Performapal Odd-Eyes Seer...eventually. The TCG version just dropped less than a month ago so we've got a ways to go. T_T

Thread is pretty slow these days. Any reason to make discussion a little more lively and get more people involved would be great.

I won with Gustos vs. an Earth Machines + Superheavy Samurai ??? deck. He did brick, but he also had an out to everything that I had for quite a while. He used Vespenado to get over my Simorgh Link-3 for example.

I literally summoned 2 Sphreez, learned that I wouldn't mind having 3 Sphreez in the deck, Winda's lvl 5 Synchro, Simorgh Link-3, Apex Avian, Borreload Savage to attach my dead Simorgh, and a 600 attack Vedir to run over a 500 defense Earth Machine and attack directly with Borreload for game

That was a wild ass game ngl. A lot of improv on my part

Drytron does have their own big boss monster to turbo out. Ive seen it on occassion. They are technically generic ritual support so you can put them in almosy anything I guess, just so happens that "Infinite Negate Works" is the best thing you can do with them <_<

Their in-archetype boss mons are actually pretty decent and fairly easy to summon. Herald is only better because we have 3 Evas and Beatrice. It won't make them meta because it's not infinite negates.

Yeah, but disco ball has shit looks.
Meanwhile Drytron boss looks badass.

I have pure Drytrons built and it's fun. Not meta, not D1 worthy, but fun.

Holy cannoli, this card is absolutely nutso

It's always a "crystal" card, puts 2 CB from deck to your spell/trap, then special summons a CB from hand or GY. The only bad thing about this is that it starts to clog your S/T zone, which CB decks have very little of.

But this with Ruby Carbuncle... is a 2 card special summon 3 bodies on the field at minimum, and that's without considering how CBs now have an extra normal summon, and this doesn't use up your standard normal summon. Could be more special summon if you happened to get more in the S/T. It's utterly ridiculous how good this is

With this card, without some omni negate, you basically can't stop CB from doing full combos, which makes their turn 2 plays significantly stronger. Now you also have way too many targets you have to stop to fully stop CB. The most reliable way to stop CBs now is to pray they fucking brick with too many useless CBs. Goddamn, like this is so crazy, and it's searchable by the 12?!?!! cards in this deck. It's so mad

Btw, this is the max power of the deck. He ends on Apollo USA, Abyss Dweller, Rainbow Dragon Overdrive (solo game over if the opponent has no outs to it), an omni neg counter trap, Conclave, which is bounce. That's just scoop for majority of the decks out there.

Oh neat. Nice to see anime archetypes get genuinely cracked support that's not just a generic engine for other decks. >_>

But the combos in this deck are actually way too fucking hard. It requires a lot of planning ahead and making sure you don't run out of S/T space while also making sure there are CBs in there. One thing I'm worried is that the equip spell will ruin some of these combos, but I believe that can be solved by getting rid of the monster it summons, as the equip will also be destroyed

Bricking and bad AI is like, the core win condition of at least half of the solo gate missions lol.

Vendread AI freaks the fuck out when you don't use the loaner. Summons it's entire extra like they're a combo deck and ends on a single Knightmare Pheonix when you have no backrow. >_>

Also the new Starry Night solo is cool. Is this the first time a solo gate "extra" archetype got its own gate? Deck is fun, has great artwork, selection pack has that one chaos dragon I'd need if I ever decide to make that Chaos Deck I have most of the cards for and never comitted to

Yeah it's pre-structure deck CB, basically missing everything that makes the deck interesting. Before the structure deck, it was essentially like a Rainbow Neos turbo with some Conclave jank on the side for extra interruption. Rainbow Neos is just as it sounds. Mostly going 2nd and hoping you can make Verte or just draw into Neos Fusion. Pure CB was just horrible slow pain with no real moves. I think the field spell can be a win condition sometimes, but there's no reliable way to get there

Post-structure CB becomes a huge S/T zone and resource managing combo control deck. It's pretty difficult to memorize a combo because you have to improvise quite a bit. Max combo makes a break my board type board, and the average board makes a really good control deck that makes you really agonize over which to use first.

Post-structure CB is ultra hype and super skill intensive. I can definitely see somebody in the future master the intricacies, and that equip spell will push it towards a YCS top and maybe even a tier 1. Jesse Kotton is interested in mastering the deck, and if anybody can do it, it's probably him.

I really wanna start a classic beatdown deck. What's the strongest 4 star card these days? I remember it was this Gorilla card with 2k atk and his only draw back is that he has to attack every round.

Kinda hard to pin down that classification these days since 4 star monsters are rarely designed to be beatsticks anymore.

Inspector Boarder has 2000 attack and defense, and has a crippling floodgate effect that prevents players from activating more than one or two monster effects.

Something like Dinowrestler Prankratops is level 8, but it summons itself for free if your opponent controls a monster and has like 2600 attack points. Also can tribute itself to destroy a single card if those attack points arent enough.

Beatdown strategies these days have just evolved into straight up OTK decks, though. Stuff like Cyber Dragon and Cyberdark, Numeron, Utopia, Heroes, etc all really just want to get one or more big beefy boss monsters on the field and attack with tens of thousands combined attack points. >_>

Many Lv. 4 normal monster has 2k ATK but shit DEF, some Lv. 4 has more than 2k but equally shit DEF...then there is BS like Inspector Boarder.

I would just go for OTK deck that can handle negates and stuff instead.

Finally figuring out Branded Despia. Got some more key cards and I can see why this deck is straight cancer. The mirror match is like having a knife fight in a barrel though. Also I didnt realize that Alba can Special summon itself if there are any dragons on the field and you have albaz. Its basically a straight up tribute summon with no limit on how many dragons it uses for material.

Also crazy plays using Ad Limitum to bring back a Mirrorjade along with having Masquerade Tax Dragon too. All while still having MJs non targeting banish still live. I actually beat a Witchcrafter player cause with their stupid negate Spell cards things up by baiting out the negate and then using droplet to turn off the 2800 def does everything floodgate Witchcrafter then banish it. Person scooped after that. They even had 2 of those cant be destroyed by battle or card effect for the first time per turn up as well. God I hate Witchcrafters

Its kinda like all the things I liked about Thunder Dragons but modern power levels. But even I know Colossus is a Mistake.

I guess this strat is to always have a monster either in your head to be ready to be summoned or bring multiple monsters to your field to XYZ Summon. God I'm so behind.

Catching up is always a bit fun. You will get it in time. I heard good things about the PSP games.

I managed to empty a Dragonmaid player's entire extra deck before defeating them. This Dogmatika deck is so fun, why didn't I build it sooner?

I've got a similar deck I was playing for the last couple seasons when not doing Dragonmaids/Branded Eldlich. The big difference is that I run Sangan/Senju of the Thousand hands for extra digging (since I don't have Diviner), and run two copies of the ritual monsters instead of DMoC and the Burning Magic Attack. The deck is honestly pretty good, although I've found it struggles a little bit against Branded decks, especially Despia, due to its ability to recycle things from the Graveyard. But when it gets rolling, it's fantastic.

Sudden realization: I have this Dogmatika deck on the same account as my Invoked cards (from my Invoked Eldlich variant) so that means I have two-thirds of the famous IDS (Invoked Dogmatika Shaddoll) deck that used to be a super high tier meta deck like... a year or two ago in the TCG. I wonder how it would fare now if I pulled for the Shaddoll cards to finish the last third of that deck and built it.

Even without the off chance to summon DMoC, it's great for Dogmatika because it's a non-targeting banish and the deck can put out level 8 Spellcasters pretty easily to be able to use it. I just run DMoC (and Dark Renewal) alongside it for the memes.

What are your thoughts on the Sky strikers now that Raye has a family 2 brothers, an aunt, a mother and a grandfather and Roze has a clone of her named Camellia?
