Leaving when he did just suited all parties really, since England were going nowhere under him, and 2010 was probably the last tournament where that group of players were at their peak anyway.

You make a good point here. It shows under the Hogdson era the players just weren't good enough. We took Ricky Lambert to the Euros and started him. That says it all really.
