He could just be use to going places it's done a certain way. If someone accepts being corrected, they did literally nothing wrong. It's wild to expect such robotic perfection from humans. We all get caught up in what we know and have moments things change on us unknowingly. You did your part by correcting his misunderstanding. But then you judged him harshly for even having a misunderstanding. That's why someone would say you come off bad here.
