You cannot shoulder this on your own and hospitals aren't meant for long term care. You also have to take care of yourself first. I've been in a similar situation with both my grandparents and it was awful. They unfortunately, were not vets. Well, power of attorney for something like this requires getting doctors to sign off on it, so I need to try to figure out who to call in that beurocratic mess first... if I could even get that far.
