Imagine there's a mass Arkham breakout and the Batfamily is out doing Bat things. Joker decides his latest fuckery is going to involve Bruce Wayne, so he goes to get him at the manor. Obviously Bruce isn't there, so he takes Alfred hostage. But Alfred turns the tables and mocks Joker. Tells him that Batman is Bruce Wayne to ruin the mystery. Tells him that he's scanned him with Bat-tech and found whatever dead man's switch bullshit he has.
