Like, I get why they're used, and I know they're never gonna stop being used, but I think I'm just over them. They happen so often in any semi-serious fictional narrative that they've lost all emotional impact for me. ESPECIALLY when the character who is supposed to be dead is revealed to still be alive almost immediately after the fact. Like come on, at least let it sit for a minute.

It just feels like such a cheap emotional tactic to get audiences for a quick second, but then they're too scared to actually commit to the consequences of a major character actually dying.

I'm at the point where I don't even feel sad about a lot of character's deaths until it's been proven that they're actually legit dead. And even then they still sometimes end up being alive.
