Sounds cool. I did the global game jam a couple of months ago which was also 48 hours. The theme was Ouroboros, and while our game didn't really stick to the theme as well as our original design planned for, it turned out pretty damn fun.
Since you're the lead designer, just make sure that your game works theoretically. Halfway through making our game we realized that it theoretically didn't work, so we had to revise it. We thought it would be like the prisoner's dilemma in repeated trials, but it turned out that it was just the prisoner's dilemma in a single trial. Whoops!
