For the stuff you mentioned, it depends on when youll eat them. For tomatoes, if youre going to eat them in the next couple of days, you can leave them out. But if it will be longer, you refrigerate to slow down the decay

As for ketchup and syrup, if depends, as well If you constantly use ketchup and will finish it off within the month, just leave it out. If you just use it sometimes, then refrigerate it. It can last about a month out of the fridge once its open. For syrup, it depends on the syrup. But its usually kept in the fridge until its taken out to warm up before breakfast
