Honorable Mention: Kimiyo Hoshi (Doctor Light)

Okay, so to be clear since pictures aren't working, this is not the supervillain Doctor Light. This is the Hero of Japan Doctor Light, and she is also a mentor to our resident Atlantean Princess Minerva. As Doctor Light has shown, the most important thing for a mentor to instill is discipline. No matter where Doctor Light goes, behind her will be Minerva, carrying a variety of books that her mentor needs to use for her research. It's never-ending comedy, as it's Doctor Light's refusal to take any nonsense from anyone in full view, always demanding, always commanding, and not putting up with even the slightest delay in her step. It doesn't matter who it is, Doctor Light will stand toe-to-toe with even Amanda Waller. Such is the power of her determination, her anger, and her discipline.

Yet there is also the sad aspect of Doctor Light. She entered the campaign in Tokyo, having withdrawn from the world after Doctor Light, the villain, ripped her powers away, and killed her children. Her children are dead, and with the grid up, her power is limited and must be used extremely wisely, until we find a way to get solar energy from Vega to her. Yet when she was absolutely needed, she stepped up, put her sorrow behind her, and fought for what she needed to fight for. This all leads to the very occasional softer side to Doctor Light. She currently leads a field team tasked with defending Japan's dwindling resistance, and assigned to her was Tomorrow Woman, whom Doctor Light requested due to the robot's history as a Justice Leaguer. And while Tomorrow Woman has the strength of a great hero, her childlike personality is a disappointment in Doctor Light's eyes. At the very least, it was the case until Roz'etta talked to Kimiyo and explained the situation herself, of Tomorrow Woman's parentage, of her mental state, of how hard she's worked to reach the state she's in. The result was the slightest dimming of her anger, the slightest bit of sympathy in her eyes for Tomorrow Woman. It was a struggle to get even that, but it was very much satisfying to fight for another character's respect.
