I'd put it in the "minor flaws hold it back from being one of the truly amazing seasons" tier, and say it's probably the fourth-or-fifth-best post-HvV season, behind DvG, Philippines, Cagayan, and maybe Kaoh Rong. This was significantly better than S42. There, I said it. S42 had those frustrating twists, as you mentioned, which detracted from what should've been the "new Cagayan." Now that SA9 is finished, making myself a season ranking list.
