Not to mention Axel only won the belt because Fandango got hurt.

On the other end of the spectrum, here's the US champs of the 2010s

Miz - 2x champ. A necessary grab to help begin his push.
Bret Hart - lol
R Truth - 2x champ. Somehow won this at both the beginning and end of the decade and neither run was relevant
Bryan - Good run; even got a solid Bryan vs Ziggler match at Bragging Rights out of it
Sheamus - 2x champ. It really seemed like he was the go to guy when they lacked direction with the US title in both 2011 and 2014
Kofi - 2x champ. Neither run was of importance and only existed to give the strap to Ziggler and Ambrose.
Ziggler - 2x champ. One nice run that went nearly half the year in 2011, and one run in 2017 where Dolph simply said "Fuck it" and vacated the title after 2 days
Ryder - Arguably one of the best feel good title wins, only to have WWE book him like a joke forever afterwards
Swagger - lol
Santino - An even longer, more meaningless lol
Cesaro - I keep forgetting Cesaro won a singles title in WWE
Ambrose - Mainly remembered for its length and helped him stand out in Shield
Rusev - 3x champ. First two runs were solid back when Rusev was being booked worth a damn. Third reign was pretty forgettable.
Cena - 2x champ. The US Open challenge brought serious credibility back to the title again
Rollins - Just a temporary crutch in a feud with Cena that somehow included Jon Stewart
Del Rio - Completely out of nowhere; Del Rio's run would also include Zeb Coulter and a stable that was not getting over
Kalisto - Even more out of nowhere and forgettable
Reigns - Okay guys, winning the WWE title wasn't helping Reigns with fans, let's put a smaller belt on him!
Jericho - 2x champ. Him winning the belts was more memorable than his runs with either one.
Owens - 3x champ. First two runs were solely to begin writing Jericho off (and also because WWE scrapped Owens/Jericho for the Universal title in favor of Goldberg/Lesnar, so hey, here's this smaller belt!), third very brief run was solely to build up Owens vs Shane
Styles - 3x champ. AJ needed something to do in 2017 while WWE tried miserably to make us care about Jinder Mahal
Corbin - lol. His only highlights were beating Miz in a champ vs champ match and retaining against Styles
Roode - Forgettable
Orton - Hey let's make Randy a grand slam champ!
Jinder - WWE in 2018: "Jinder WILL be important on television!"
Jeff Hardy - WWE a week later: "On second thought, Jeff can have it"
Nakamura - 2x champ. For as long as he had the belt, I remember nothing
Samoa Joe - 2x champ. Shame this was the only belt he won on the main roster. At least he got to squash Mysterio
Rey - 2x champ. Neither run memorable
Ricochet - Only purpose was to bring the OC together again
Andrade - Won at the tail end of the decade, nothing memorable
