This is situation is a microcosm for when girls string you along making you believe theyre interested in something, but when you invite them out they deject. It IS a (very obvious) hint that theyre not actually interested. But it makes you question why they put in all the effort to make it seem like there WAS initial interest. That was more of my purpose.
