Topic | Post an animated series, comic, or video game, and I'll tier its visual design. |
Anagram 08/11/22 7:38:48 PM #207: | MZero posted... if absolute perfection is A tier I don't think you need an S tierS Tier is there for things better than perfect. S Tier A Tier Chrono Trigger X-Men (Jim Lee) Dragon Quest Persona 5 Ace Attorney Bioshock Batman: The Animated Series Batman Beyond Paper Mario Cuphead Team Fortress 2 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse B Tier Ghost Trick The Elder Scrolls III Hotline Miami Warhammer 40K Skies of Arcadia Kirby's Epic Yarn Return of the Obra Dinn Superman (Max Fleischer) Night is Short, Walk on Girl Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Pokemon RBY Columbia (Bioshock) Pokemon Adventures Danganronpa: Danganronpa is a master class in waifu designs, I don't know any other series that comes even remotely close. Unfortunately, the first game is the only one with atmosphere (how you take the premise of a horrible death game and set it in a tropical island resort is beyond me), and the non-sprite artwork of the series, like the rooms and backgrounds, are generally pretty weak. I do really like the pink blood as a stylistic choice, even if I don't understand it. Wario Land: Shake It Stein's Gate (VN) It Takes Two Viewtiful Joe Bleach The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Observer Yoshi's Crafted World: "Okay, we've done paper, yarn, storybooks... What's next?" "Yarn again." But seriously, this game is lovely, and--wait, this is the EIGHTH Yoshi game? That can't be right... What the hell is Yoshi's Universal Gravitation? Dragon Ball FighterZ Dead Space Bayonetta Kingdom Hearts Superman Smashes the Klan Kubo and the Two Strings Tales from the Crypt Comix Zone El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron Punisher (Greg Rucka) Halo Legends - The Package: Yep, that's Halo. Samurai Jack Hollow Knight Mario Strikers Journey (Game) Bloodborne Punch-Out!! (Wii) Futurama Avatar: The Last Airbender Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart The Last of Us Part II Okami Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Standard Kirby, though it's set in a post-apocalyptic Earth, I guess. And don't give me dimestore Kirby theories about how dark the universe is or whatever, seeing Kirby envelope a traffic cone is enough. Library of Ruina Yazuka Sonic Mania Garfield Minus Garfield: The art is better than the 70s nomination, of course, but the real change is that Jon Arbuckle becomes an insane person. Some of the strips are absolute genius, it's a portal into the mind of a deranged psychopath driven mad by loneliness and pain. Going to the Store: Ah yes, I've seen this before. It's gross, of course, but funny gross. 11 years ago, goddamn. Imagine if you saw this glitchy-ass disgusting mannequin wave dashing at you. The third one being so long is sort of an error, these things are better the briefer they are. C Tier Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny Kholat Mirror's Edge MORE Flip Flappers The Dark Spire Jet Set Radio: Urban and stylish in a way that's more appealing than Splatoon, but it's still not my thing. Arcane FLCL Dreaming Mary Hawkeye (David Aja) Red Dead Redemption Kingdom (Manga): More personality than a normal manga. For some reason, this is very Berserk to me. Koumajou Densetsu: Scarlet Symphony Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Super Mario Galaxy The World Ends With You Super Mario Bros (NES) Zenless Zone Zero One Piece Yu-Gi-Oh! Yu-Gi-Oh! Dual Links: I mean, it's just more Yu-Gi-Oh, except now the name doesn't make sense because Yugi's not there. Street Fighter VI South Park Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Yoshi's Island Mad God (2022) Courage the Cowardly Dog The Sims 4 Little Nightmares II Transformers Bakemonogatari Code Name STEAM Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo Jujutsu Kaisen: Not particularly impressed. Some of the shots look very Bleach, and there's one guy who looks way too similar to that one character from Naruto with the white hair. I should also tell you that I've never seen Bleach or Naruto. Blacksad Monster Sanctuary The Books of Magic Vol 1: I have to believe that this dark-haired glasses kid with an owl is riffing on Harry Potter, right? Man, remember when Harry Potter was relevant enough to riffed on? Warioware Odin Sphere Over the Garden Wall Shadow of the Colossus Vib-Ribbon Adventure Time Ib Alice's Wonderland Bakery Zero Time Dilemma D Tier Halo Legends: The Duel Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion Goodnight Punpun Splatoon Waking Life Pizza Tower Nyan~ Neko Sugar Girls It's Such A Beautiful Day Peanuts Mob Psycho 101 Monokune (2007) Mega Man (Ruby Spears) Speed Racer (Anime) Va11 Hall-A Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964) Bob's Burgers Bucky O'Hare Parappa the Rapper Donha Donha The Simpsons (Tracey Ullman) Hylics Hulaing Babies Kaiba Code Lyoko Umineko (Original) Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction An Untitled Story The Midnight Gospel Gnosia Katamari Damacy Dusk xkcd Heathcliff: I know it's not fair, but I've always thought of Heathcliff as discount Garfield, and Garfield was already a discount Snoopy, and Snoopy was already not funny. Let's talk about that for a moment, actually. I've argued with my friends for years over whether Heathcliff is a masterful work of anticomedy, or the work of an insane person. I just don't believe that anyone can be this unfunny on purpose, and that the writer must have brain problems. Teacher's Pet (Disney) Homestar Runner Ren & Stimpy Mad Rat Dead Minecraft Garfield (1970s): I remember as a kid, I read through literally every Garfield comic up to that point. I hate to use a positive adjective in reference to Garfield of all things, but I'll admit that the art really did improve a lot. Homestuck Gumby Metalocalypse Generic Moe Anime Ed, Edd n Eddy Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist Space Funeral Treasure Planet (1982) Reboot Eastern Mind: The Lost Souls of Tong-Nou Duckman F Tier The Legend of Zelda (CD-I) The Nutshack Monster by Mistake The Problem Solverz The Prince (TV) Joshua and the Promised Land Angela Anaconda --- Not changing this sig until I decide to change this sig.
