Arrival was fun. Thought it was going to be a bit harder than it was going in, but it was pretty swift to go through even on Insanity. Tried to warn the Batarians, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I do think it is a good setup for the start of 3, going to trial for something that was completely dire either way. Moral of the story is to be not messing with Reaper tech/artifacts-Only ends up in indoctrination.

With that said I made sure my team was ready, and went through the Omega 4 relay. Mission, the setup, the music, everything is still as good as I remember. Had Kasumi go through the vents, and Garrus lead the team(s). Tagged along with Grunt and Jack through the base, and then had Samara hold up the barrier. For the last stretch I had Legion and Grunt tag along to finish off the human reaper.

Final battle wasn't too hard. The hardest part was actually running around looking for ammo and not getting hit by crossfire. I also tried to nuke the reaper but completely flubbed and missed lol. Still ended up killing it without dying. Locust SMG too OP.

Mass Effect 2 is still a 10/10 game for me. I was thoroughly interested in everything going on, I listened to all the conversations I could, every character was either great, or their greatest weakness was that they were just boring or flat. Most importantly it improved just about everything from the original. It trimmed down the weapon amounts and other fluff including some of those RPG elements that I mentioned earlier in this thread. It was stuff that was not needed and was superfluous at best. I get if you like the first for story reasons, or the world building, but 2 is better in the gameplay department, the visuals, the art direction. It vastly improved all side assignments, and while they aren't mind blowingly interesting all the time it drastically cut the time down in order to do so.

The biggest complaint I have is just mining for resources in general. It's boring, but luckily you don't have to mine every single planet you come across and there is more than enough to get what you need right away. I also do prefer the galaxy map traversal in other systems in 1 compared to 2. While I like being able to manually fly the Normandy to other systems and locations, I prefer just having to click on a system and go.

Grunt > Mordin > Garrus > Legion > Tali > Thane > Jack > Samara > Zaeed > Kasumi > Jacob > Miranda.

I don't hate Miranda, I just don't like her character all that much and don't care what's going on with her. I've always liked Grunt, I found myself liking him more than ever. I pretty much brought him along on every mission I could.

Loyalty missions: Tali > Mordin > Garrus > Jack > Legion > Kasumi > Jacob > Zaeed > Thane > Grunt > Samara > Miranda.

Tali's loyalty mission is on top as my favorite. It's a good pace breaker with the trial, you get a lot of information regarding Quarians and the Geth. How some are open to peace, and others are looking for war. It gave much more insight into Tali's personal life and how the Quarians are dealing with the migrant fleet and trying to reclaim their home world. There is a bunch of meat in this mission and obviously I brought Legion along. You also get a good combat mission on top of all this on the Alarei. Not to mention call backs to the Quarians you meet along the way in 2. It's a good accumulation of story bits, lore and world building all in one. Which eventually does lead to the climax in 3. Shame they kind of drop the dark energy stuff. It is mentioned a ton.

Quick note-I destroyed the Collector's base.

On to 3~

Probably sometime later tonight or tomorrow.
