Honestly most language apps suck and will only teach you kanji, and only in a very, very vague and foreigner sense.

I do Duolingo just to stay fresh with survival Japanese. I actually live in Japan, but I want to keep up with anything, even if it isnt amazing.

Why do you guys feel Lingodeer is better? I used to use it before DuoLingo cleaned up their kanji (it used to be trash). It was basically the same stuff though.

Wakiwani is basically flashcards.

Honestly, finding good reading material for foreigners learning Japanese is hard. I know people swear by Genki, but workbooks dont cut it and dont offer much in the way of nativeness. It is always missing nuance and actual explanation. Ive tried them and didnt feel they were helpful, outside of being easy to answer the prompts.
