It's funny. I brought him along instantly to recruit Samara next, and while talking to the officer I said the order from command was stupid, and Thane mentioned that he would never so no to a command from Shepard, but I've talked to you two times! Shepard is confirmed to be the most charismatic person in the galaxy.

Also, this game is super cheesy, in a good way much like Resident Evil 4. Probably a comparison that you would never think to see but some of the cheese/camp is too good. Like when Shepard can renegade trigger push the Eclipse merch on Thane's recruitment and he peers over the edge of the building and says "How bout' "Goodbye"" It's so stupid and unnecessary to say that but it works. Even though I'm playing Paragon I press it everytime.
