I can't resonate with modern rap in the same way that I did years ago because lyricism doesn't seem to be as appreciated as it was years ago. The emphasis / focus nowadays seems to be on weak lyricism, choppy flows and regurgitated beats. As for the current state of music? I keep an open mind, there's a bunch of stuff I like spanning a wide range of genres. I recently started listening to Remi Wolf and I dig her stuff. When it comes to UK grime / rap, I prefer listening to older stuff. Some new stuff is decent, but I prefer older tracks. English Frank is still one of my favourite artists to this day.
