well i think mmbn1 is lovely idk if there's a reason people think it doesn't hold up.

It just feels like a prototype of the rest of the series to me. It's an easier, shorter game with largely less interesting bosses and less interesting chip designs, lacking some quality of life features that exist in later games, with an internet world that doesn't look as good. (Also Elecman's level is probably the most annoying puzzle area in the series I think)
