Mars
Move Me
A CYBER'S WORLD?

--
Mars [8.5]
FEHLT (DEEMO edition) [8.3]

Mars was definitely the way to go for me in this matchup; leading me on with the Spanish guitar is always a good decision to make. I don't think there's a real "standout" moment for me in this song, it just generally sounds really good to me.

FEHLT sounds neat and the vocals don't turn me away at all, I kinda dig the "dreamy" vibe that shows up at 1:03 for a bit, and the "sting" section from 1:52 to about 2:12 is something I really appreciate too. I think I might like this more if the vocals were stronger somehow? Kinda unsure on that, but this overall sounds a bit better the more I relisten to it.

Move Me [9.3]
Combat Beneath the Waves [8.4 - 8.5]

I stumbled upon Move Me by random chance when looking up new soundtracks to use in one of my earlier guessing games, and I've never gone back from it and rediscovering Ridge Racer as a whole after not playing it for 10+ years at this point. After those first 15 seconds of calmness and a sudden buildup, the song goes into full overdrive with energy and I am all too happy to join the ride. I've never ranked any other Ridge Racer song just yet I think, so for now I guess I can say that Move Me is (currently) easily my top Ridge Racer song to date, with its infectious DnB energy and high-speed rhythm. Solid racing song, 100% would drive speeding down a moonlit highway any day of the week with this blasting.

From the little Genshin music I've heard so far, this is probably top 5 so far for me I think. Ignoring the weird breathing moment that occurs in the second half of the song, the strings are doing a really good job carrying that dramatic momentum that really helps define this piece, and the vocals in the last third are a neat touch to finish the song with.

Ethnic Cave & Flame [8.3]
A CYBER'S WORLD? [9]

The old synths used for Ethnic Cave are pretty cool, they're certainly of a kind that you don't really ever hear often anymore for music I feel. They scream "futuristic" to me and play to an energetic beat, so it's hard to not appreciate them at the very least.

CYBER'S WORLD was easily my hook into playing Chapter 2, not like I wasn't looking forward to playing it after Chapter 1 was released. BIG SHOT is pretty good but mid for me, Attack of the Killer Queen was decent, but THIS (as well as the cool backgrounds the city offered) were what really got me happy that I was coming back into the world of Deltarune once again. I really love how happy and "plucky" the synths sound here, and I really like the upbeat heavy bass that plays when needed instead of taking up the entire song. This is honestly one of the better songs that Toby Fox has done so far for Undertale/Deltarune, and I'll be more than happy to see what he comes up with in the future.
