Some people really are missing out on something cool. The second match is ... kinda tough. There's a clear winner to me, but I still feel a little sad about not voting for Combat Beneath the Waves. I thought I disliked the X-Men song in the nominations phase, but I may not have given it a proper chance with so many other songs being nominated ... A CYBER'S WORLD? is so cool to me though! UF8 06/22/22 11:38:32 PM #13:	REVERIE BREAKS UNKNOWN D&B MUTATED ETHNIC ~~mars is good and definitely the best shade song in the contest~~ ~~alice schach is good and definitely the best alice schach in the contest (please keep adding more alice schach songs to contests thanks)~~ ~~this was a tough match to decide in my favourites bracket so it's not a huge surprise that i nearly flipped on it here. rooting for both~~ ~~there are specific things move me does and has that elevates the song for me a good deal beyond many other ridge racer songs so i'm glad to see it back~~ on the other hand, this genshin song is not exactly one that i go and say "yes!!! this is the best genshin impact hoyoverse song i've heard in my life" but that doesn't really matter because genshin is just super consistent no matter where you look. glad it's here too ~~another tough match, was a liiiittle bit easier after relistens but sheesh~~ i've already said this before but this xmen song is like, a ketsui song but with some... i think battle garegga, night slave and cattle mutilation attached to it, which is an impressive vibe to achieve in just one minute especially considering none of those games existed then lol. also it's still kind of funny to me that like, i was thinking about picking a technouchi song from cotton rock n roll since, of all the composers in it, i didn't really expect anyone to nominate anything else from him at all, and then... this not only got nominated but is also in good song. unexpectedly felt a bit pokemon dp? a little while in. even for toby, it impresses me that he was able to make such a memorable ending theme-esque song without even making it an ending theme lol easiest decision of the day for me mostly since the xmen song manages to pack as many things i like (if not more) into its significantly shorter runtime, but i still like cyber's world a lot. i haven't seen votes so this is coming out of my ass but i also feel like it's going to win pretty easily, though i don't mind at all tbh overall great day, i had ratings but i feel like i still underrated half of them and they should all be around at least 8 tbh i still want to try that other technouchi song again next year though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlNB-74TbHY <cite>UF8 posted [p:966031381] in [VGMC] Day... The Sengoku/Deemo matchup because I can appreciate Deemo but would like it a whole lot better if it didn't speed up, the Ridge Racer/Genshin because I am reminded that every time I hear a driving game song I like, I will never remember exactly game it comes from unless it's something memetic, and the last one is reminding me just how many quarters I fed an arcade machine while simultaneously punching my stepbrother because he kept stealing Nightcrawler before I could grab him. As for how votes went... well... Sengoku played off my acoustic guitar appreciation, while Genshin... I dunno, something about the strings is off for me, and I can't quite put my finger on why. MaxGalactica 06/23/22 9:26:10 AM #32:	I like the piano and acoustic guitar in the intro of Mars. The chords at 1:23 are pretty solid, which are followed by a very cool key change. Nice song. It's grown on me since noms. The drums and glitchy e-guitar don't fit this type of song at all. Vocalist is okay, but not great. There are good ideas in FEHLT, but they're mostly poorly executed in my opinion. Move Me is a better DnB track than most, but I can't say I'm a huge fan. My issue with DnB in general is it relies too much on the drum loop and can get super repetitive very easily. This one's less repetitive than most, but it's still got a lot of repetition in it, and when it does change, it feels like an arbitrary music change rather than a natural musical progression to me. My favorite part is the glitchy bit at the end. Combat Beneath the Waves is pretty good, though certainly not my favorite Genshin track I've heard. Pretty cool strings, and the inclusion of pizzicato strings is always appreciated. Solid motifs throughout, and it's pretty cool that this song is pretty much entirely strings, except for some effects here and there and the vocals at the end. Good song. Not a fan of the MIDI style of Ethnic Cave & Flame. And the actual composition doesn't really do anything interesting to salvage it for me. Sorry. A CYBER'S WORLD? is definitely my favorite Deltarune Ch. 2 song. Such a great melody, and the modern synths combined with the chiptune elements is done so well here (as per usual for toby fox).
