Learned from playing trumpet. You decompress your lungs and use the muscles in your throat to flex the nasal cavities like little pumps. I played tuba and never did that. Not saying you are lying though. Just never even considered the possibility or was told about it. My band teacher was just happy enough I could hold a note for almost a full minute --- Cid- "looks like that overgrown lobster just got served!" Bartz-"with cheese biscuts AND mashed potatoes!" ...
