Been playing for nearly 9 years now, I think it's more habit than anything else. Well also it's the people you play with too. When you've played with a lot of the same people for 5-9 years and have become very good friends with them then it's hard to just quit knowing that you're cutting off your main point of contact with those people.
i can 100% respect that, and though I didn't play for as long as you or get anywhere near as advanced as you, I can say with certainty that it was the people I had met that kept me going for as long as I did. My last two months in game were basically just Ballista and helping LS mates with quests/NMs/whatever. I didn't really advance myself, I had become weary of advancement, I just had a hard time tearing myself from some good friends.
