Adachi was essentially "doing it for the lulz" and was content to sit back and watch crazy shit happen. Akechi takes things into his own hands and is trying to get back at the world. That's true, but the whole "detective pretending to be carefree is actually a bad guy" thing fits both of them. Plus they both act like crazy people after their reveals.
