The only thing Ill say is that having a message at your core and having fun as your main goal are in no way mutually exclusive. All three of those films I mentioned have messages. I think nearly every film on this list is about something regardless of if its mainly trying to be fun or not, thats the great thing about the horror genre. I dont think theyre mutually exclusive either! But I do think theres a point where one will be prioritized over the over. Is this a fun movie with a message or is this a movie with a message that theyre trying to have fun with? I know Im splitting hairs here, and its entirely subjective.
