When you think of your concept of consciousness, how would you describe that to another person?

The extent to which this woman praises my appearance is almost absurd lol. Part of me's going, "Why thank you" and part of me is saying, "I'm not hot though, stahp!" She even asked what kind of bathing suit I would wear. I bet she has...ideas.

Hmm, consciousness, and how it applies to others? Well, I do believe that I am conscious. There are arguments to be made against it, but it seems ridiculous to suppose that I am the only one who is conscious, and certainly I see people and even animals take actions in which they center themselves in some way or another, so I assume they are also conscious of their surroundings. This would be a better question for her: she's actually read some philosophy well beyond taking half of a 101.
