Yesterday someone I work with spouted off the same garbage about video games inspire violence, etc. When I told him that there are hundreds of thousands of gamers that use Twitch and/or Discord and aren't prone to violence in the real world, he questioned how I could possibly know that. That's when I pointed out that 1) I've met dozens of them and 2)my daughter and I are both gamers (even though we don't play things like GTA). Over the years I've learned that video games, like everything else, are neither good nor bad but should be used in moderation and monitored much like using the internet. All the politicians do is make statements to inflame the situation because they want the outrage to give them power; the media aids them in their quest.
